Alberto has been practicing for over 16 years and is an experienced family law attorney, and guardian ad litem. He believes that divorce is not about winning or losing, but about finding the best solution for the family as a whole. While he is a litigator at heart, Alberto is also practical and creative at settlement. He tries to avoid emotionally and financially expensive courtroom battles; but if settlement is not an option, he is an aggressive advocate. Alberto is also a business law attorney and has a special interest in lemon law and tenants’ rights. He is fluent in Spanish.

Professional and Community Activities
Alberto has written for the Wisconsin Journal of Family Law, and enjoys teaching. He has taught the family law and mediation sections of the general practice course at the University of Wisconsin Law School, as well as continuing legal education seminars for the State Bar of Wisconsin about guardian ad litem advocacy.
He has recently been accepted to the Guardian Ad Litem Project of Dane County. The Project is a very well-respected group of family law and children’s law attorneys in Dane County. Guardians ad litem are independent attorneys appointed by the court in family law and children’s law cases to represent just the child’s best interests and make recommendations to the court on how the case should be resolved.
Additionally, Alberto was also accepted into Wisconsin Pro Bono Honor Society 2016. In order to be accepted in to the Wisconsin Pro Bono Honor Society, he had to provide at least 50 hours of qualifying pro bono (free) legal services to benefit people of limited means.
Furthermore, Alberto volunteers at the East Madison Community Center, which serves children and families from the surrounding area, to strengthen the community through education, employment, fitness, and socialization. Alberto is also a member of the Latino Chamber of Commerce.
Alberto loves to be in court. When he is not in the courtroom, he is busy raising his three children and spending time with his Westie/Yorkie mix, Milton, and his rescued pit bull, Jamarr. Alberto loves listening to live music. To say he loves the Grateful Dead is an understatement. He is an enthusiastic Chicago sports fan, less the White Sox. He manages and plays on two baseball teams in the Madison Adult Baseball League.
